Terms of Service

1. Description of Service

Kelo is a meeting intelligence product. You upload or record audio, Kelo transcribes it using OpenAI Whisper, and uses Claude AI to generate up to six Outputs per recording: a summary, action items, key decisions, a follow-up email draft, a plain-English explanation, and a conversational chat interface.

2. Account Registration

You must create an account to use Kelo. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at kelo@alxstudio.ie if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Subscription and Billing

Kelo is offered on a subscription basis at $17 per month or $139 per year. All payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.

You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. We do not issue refunds for partial billing periods.

4. Acceptable Use

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to record any conversation you process through the Service. Recording laws vary by jurisdiction: some require all-party consent. We do not and cannot verify compliance on your behalf.

You must not use Kelo to:

• Record conversations without lawful consent
• Process content that is unlawful, harmful, or defamatory
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the Service
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service without our written permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice.

5. Audio and Data Handling

Audio files you upload or record are sent to OpenAI Whisper via a secure server-side API call for transcription. The audio file is permanently deleted from our servers immediately after the transcript is returned. We do not retain, analyse, or use your audio for any purpose other than transcription.

The resulting transcript and AI-generated Outputs are stored in your account and are accessible only to you. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how your data is handled.

6. AI-Generated Outputs

Outputs produced by Kelo are generated by AI models and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing Outputs before relying on them in any professional or consequential context. Kelo makes no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of any generated content.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to your recordings, transcripts, and content you upload. You grant Kelo a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your content solely to provide the Service.

Kelo retains all rights to the Service, its underlying technology, interface, and brand. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the right to use the Service as described.

8. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your personal data, including all transcripts and Outputs, will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with or without notice at our discretion.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kelo disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kelo's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. In no event will Kelo be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you by email if the changes are material. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
